About SVDC Competition Teams
SVDC’s competition teams are comprised teams based on age and/or abilities.
* Amethyst (ages 6-7) **NEW**
* Sapphires (ages 8-10)
* Opal (ages 9-11)
* Pearls (ages 11-12)
* Rubies (ages 13-15)
* Diamonds (ages 15+)
Our competition team members attend competitions where we consistently receive high scores, top honors and specialty
awards including many choreography and technique awards. Members are required to participate in local performances and
benefits.

SVDC dancers have increased opportunities to improve their technique, gain valuable performing experience, increase confidence

Commitment
Our required classes for all competition teams include one or two competition classes based on age and/or ability, Ballet class,
and/or a technique class. Summer session is also required for Sapphires, Opals, Pearls, Rubies and Diamonds ($65-$85) Dancers
are also required to practice at home to achieve greater results.
The team track suit is also mandatory $80.

Our teams compete in 2-3 competitions annually. A local competition in Feb, and two competitions April/ May. Teams have been
invited to participate in local events like performing at “Iron Pigs” games and “Relay For Life”. More opportunities should also be
available this coming year.
